What is the Ausmed Competency™ pilot program?
Learn about the Ausmed Competency™ pilot program, how it differs from the Beta library, and how to get involved
About the program
The Ausmed Competency™ pilot program is a partnership initiative running from late January to early May 2026. It allows select organisations to test Ausmed's new competency management software, including the collection of competency assessment results through a new mobile app, Ausmed Assess.
Purpose of the program
By partnering with existing customers during this program, we aim to test the transition from paper-based workflows to a sophisticated digital system. Specifically, we are testing:
-
Digital assessment collection: How well the Ausmed Assess app works for recording outcomes on the floor, replacing paper forms.
-
System integrity and tracking: The effectiveness of new backend features, including version control for your assessments, and the ability to track and report on competence across your entire organisation.
-
User experience: Identifying what feels intuitive to managers, assessors and staff to refine the system before a wider release.
Difference between the pilot and Ausmed Competency™ Beta
It is important to distinguish between the pilot program and the content library labeled as "Competency Beta."
-
Pilot program (2026): This is a specific partnership initiative where organisations test the Ausmed's new competency management software, including a digital assessment workflow.
-
Ausmed Competency™ Beta: This refers to a comprehensive library of professionally written, evidence-based competency assessment PDF templates made available to organisations in 2025. These templates form the content foundation that has now been digitised for the pilot.
