Reuse and edit blocks across modules
Build a block once, add it to many modules from your Customisation Library, and update it in one place — with a confirmation showing every module your edit affects.
Who does this article apply to? Organisation Managers of Ausmed Library™ (SCORM) customers.
The Customisation Library is designed to houe content blocks you can reuse across many modules. Build a policy or message once, add it to as many modules as you need, and update it in one place. This article covers reusing a block and what happens when you edit one that's used in more than one module.
Reuse a block- Customise a module (Training Schedule → Customise in the Customisation column).
- In the Before module or After module section, click Add Block and choose From the Customisation Library.
- Find the block you want in the right hand side menu and click on it to add it to the module.
The same block can sit in as many modules as you like.
Tip: Give blocks clear, specific titles so they're easy to tell apart in the library — especially when you have several similar policies.
Edit a block- Click on Customisation in the right hand side menu.
- Find the block you want to edit.
- Make your changes.
- Select Save.
Editing a block updates every module it's used in — not just the one you're looking at.
Before you save, Ausmed shows a confirmation listing every module the block appears in, so you can see exactly what your change affects. Check this list before confirming.
Your updates flow through automatically. You don't need to re-download or re-upload your SCORM files for the change to reach staff.
Good to know- One block, one source of truth. This is the point of reusing blocks — update a policy version once and every module using it stays current.
- If a change should only apply to one module, don't edit a shared block. Build a separate block for that module instead.
