Learn how to manage optional training.
Who does this article apply to?
- Users with access to Ausmed's Learning Management System.
Optional training can be manually assigned to users or be part of an Optional Training Plan. Optional means the training is "recommended" or "suggested"; users can choose whether to complete it, and it doesn't count towards your organisation's compliance.
-
- Optional requirements are created when optional training is manually assigned. Optional requirements contain information on who recommended the training, what training was recommended, and when it was recommended.
Some reasons why you might assign optional training could include:
- To recommend learning to staff to help them achieve certain learning or performance goals
- To motivate and encourage staff to continuously improve.
There are three core actions you can take to manage optional training:
1. Send Reminders
Send reminders to users to encourage them to complete the training you've recommended.
2. Mark as Completed
Mark optional training as completed on behalf of users if you know it has been completed.
3. Mark as Skipped
Mark optional training as skipped if it's no longer relevant to the user.
