⚠️ Before you publish
Publishing a competency assessment makes it live to assessors and connects it to Ausmed Learn™. Before you publish, make sure:
- The assessment details, criteria, and references are complete
- You have decided whether to link to an existing practical activity or automatically create a new one
A competency assessment cannot be published without linking it to a practical activity. This link is required for assessment outcomes to flow through to Ausmed Learn™.
How to publish
✅ Steps
- Go to Competency in the top navigation.
- Select Your Competencies from the sidebar.
- Find the competency you want to publish.
- Click Actions next to the competency, then select Edit.
- From within the competency builder, click Publish in the top-right corner.
- Choose how to link the assessment to a practical activity — either link to an existing practical activity or automatically create a new one. See When publishing a competency, should I link to an existing practical activity or create a new one?
- Once published, you will be redirected to the competency detail page.
What to do next
1. Add assessors
-
If you haven't already done so, choose who can assess the competency by adding assessors.
-
Once added, assessors can begin recording outcomes through Ausmed Assess.
-
See Choose who can assess a competency for more information.
2. Consider assigning the competency through Ausmed Learn™:
- If you chose to automatically create a new practical activity at the time of publishing, consider adding the practical activity to a training plan or manually assigning it to staff.
- If you linked to an existing practical activity that you're already assigning through Ausmed Learn™, your existing assignments are already in place.
