What is Ausmed Comptency™ Beta?
Ausmed Competency™ Beta is a comprehensive library of professionally written, evidence-based competency assessment templates designed to help organisations evaluate staff knowledge, skills, and behaviours against industry standards and regulatory requirements.
As this is a beta version, it is currently in testing mode and will be refined based on feedback. Further features may be developed over time, evolving into a more comprehensive Competency Management System.
The templates are available as editable PDF files, allowing for easy modifications.
There are two types of templates available:
- Assessor Copy – Used by assessors to evaluate a candidate’s competency.
- Candidate Copy – Provided to the candidate to guide their preparation and completed as part of their assessment.

Steps to Getting Started

✅ Step 1: Confirm your access

In the top navigation bar of the manager portal, click the Competency tab. You’ll be taken to the Assessment Templates page.

If your organisation hasn’t been granted access yet, you’ll need to complete the form on the Assessment Templates page to request it.

Once access is granted, all users with access to the manager portal will be able to download and customise the assessment templates.
✅ Step 2: Find a competency assessment
Once you have confirmed your access, follow these steps to find the right competency assessment:- Use the search bar: If you already know the assessment name, enter it in the search bar for quick access.
- Browse or filter: If you're unsure which assessment you need, explore the available competency templates or apply filters to refine your results.

✅ Step 3: Review the assessment information
Before downloading a competency assessment template, review the competency details page to ensure it meets your needs. This page provides key information, including:- Description – An overview of the competency, outlining its purpose and how it applies in a professional setting.
- Related Standards – The key industry standards and regulatory guidelines the competency aligns with.
- Applicable Professions – The specific roles or job titles that this assessment is designed for, ensuring relevance to the workforce.
- Related Settings – The workplace environments where the assessment is applicable, such as aged care, or home care settings.
✅ Step 4: Download the template
Once you've confirmed the competency is suitable, you can download the assessment template in one of two ways:
Option 1: Download from the Assessment Templates page
- Locate the competency assessment in the list of available templates.
- In the Actions column, click the three dots (⋮) next to the template.
- Select either Download Assessor Copy or Download Candidate Copy based on your needs.
Option 2: Download from the details page
- Click on the competency assessment you would like to download to open its details page.
- Scroll to the Download section.
- Select either Download Assessor Copy or Download Candidate Copy based on your needs.
Next Steps
