Bulk Team Upload Now Supports Parent/Child Team Structures

We’ve introduced an enhancement to the Bulk Team Upload template that allows organisations to upload team hierarchies in one go by assigning Parent Teams to newly created teams.

What’s New?

The Bulk Team Upload template now includes a new column:

✅ Parent Team

This allows you to define parent/child team relationships during upload, helping customers build more complex organisational structures faster.

How It Works

When uploading a spreadsheet:

Child teams can be assigned to a Parent Team
The Parent Team must either:
- already exist in the LMS, or
- be included as a new team in the same spreadsheet upload

If the Parent Team listed does not exist (and is not being created in the same upload), the row will fail validation.

Validation Behaviour

During upload, the system will display an Error Validation Modal showing:

which rows will be created successfully
which rows will fail and why

Teams that pass validation will still be created, even if other rows fail.

Benefits

This update improves onboarding speed by making it easier to:

upload large team structures
build parent/child team hierarchies quickly
prepare the system for bulk user uploads into the correct teams
